Hit, But Not Deflected

Nice today, high of only 95…

but . . .

Hot starting Friday; 100+ for the forseeable future including 102 this weekend.

That’s 10-12 warmer than originally forecasted.

Please excuse the weekend rant. You know how things go sometimes.

Part of it was work. It’s been a real pain lately and I don’t see it getting better.

Stress test tomorrow and Thursday.

Alex and his buddy rearranged all the couches in the house. We have 4 or 5 of them, depending on definition. Quite honestly, the place looks a whole lot better. My son’s friend, Will, said Alex did a lot of lifting and moving. My son has also been kicking a ball hanging from a string. It’s actually a toy for the cat, but Alex seems to really enjoy it.

I do believe Alex has built some confidence in his back….. which is a great thing!!!!!

So . . . I didn’t have much of a dinner last night. Woke up hungry, so a trip to Subway was in order. Walked in and the sandwich maker whom I’m familiar with greeted me. The Black lady who had already placed her order turned around and smiled at me also.

Black lady? Black? Why did I mention that? What difference does it make?????

Just hang on . . . the adjective becomes relavent shortly.

The lady’s look lasted just a tad bit longer that usual, but I didn’t pay much attention to that. I was hungry.

As the lady reached the cash register, she was asked if she wanted anything else.

She said . . .

Yes . . . .

(Looked at me and continued…)

I really want . . . a WHITE chocolate chip cookie!

I smiled knowingly and, being the wild man that I want to become, may my decision right then and there . . . Large ham on flatbread with lettuce, onions, jalapenos, and vinegar and oil.

Y’all have a great day,

I want a cookie too! There are no rules that say cookies can’t be a great breakfast food.
I’m so excited to hear that Alex is building confidence in his healing process. He’s young and strong, and will soon be 100%.
Stay cool this weekend, but turn off the heat next Monday when I get to Texas.
See you later today. Happy Hour starts at 5!
