No Foolin’

A cloudy 65 going to a sunny 83.

My back bothered me again last night. My dogs had to go outside around midnight and it took me awhile to stand up. Muscles kept spasming. It feels a lot better today.

I really wanted to go out and watch the Rangers’ opening day, but Alex was set on watching at the house. He’s put on some weight in the last couple of months and didn’t want to eat fried foods at Buffalo Wild wings.

The Rangers top 3 pitchers are all on the disabled list. Alex and I knew the first part of the baseball season was going to be tough. And it was. Tanner Sheppers started for the Rangers. Sheppers is a closer, not a started. And it showed. Pitched a great first inning. And then blew up. Gave up 7 runs in the next 3 innings.

Sheppers is a closer – 1 inning pitcher.

See what happens when he pitches more than that?

Mitch Moreland was the designated hitter for Texas. Moreland is the worst Ranger that I’ve seen in a very long time. I have no idea why he’s with the team let alone the D.H. Michael Choice, rookie, hit for him in the 7’th. Nice solid single to center, then hit a long shot that was caught on the warning track. Sure hope he Choice works his way into the line up soon.

My other team, St. Louis Cardinals, won. They beat Cincy 1-0 on a 7’th inning homerun by Yadier Molina. He’s the Card’s future hall-of-fame catcher and showed why it’s so deserved.

The clouds are supposed to disappear around noon. Sure hope they do. I have a backyard to mow, and I could use the tan.

And even though it’s April first, this fool won’t be fooling around today.

Take it easy on the back. Hope it’s better soon.
